for like 3 weeks my fish have been going from one sickness to another....first they had ich so i treated for ich then before i got to put in the carbon again i came home to my fish and they were covered in white stuff almost like when you peel from a bad sunburn so i treated again with maracyn. they looked good after too treatments now my jack dempsey and flowerhorn are puffy and the jack's eyes are popping out i don't know what to do i've been doing 50% water changes like twice a week i'm afraid to put more medicine in i don't want to hurt the fish by adding stuff all the time. i have a 72 gallon bowfront i stopped medicating put in chemipure in my filters and checked my parameters my ph is 6, no ammonia or nitrites and my nitrates are 30-40ppm. i can't seem to get my ph up and i don't know what to do anymore some advice would be appreciated!!!! i'm clueless!!!

dont go completely off my word because im far from a fish expert but i live down the street from a place called The Fish Gallery and that where i find out most my info. when we got our tank set up the lady told me to only change 15-20% of the water and not any more than 1 time a week. she also said that once a month would be idea for water changing. she informed me that changing the tanks atmospher stresses the fish out and makes them more prone to deseise.

i dont know if that will help any but that is what i was told. anyone can feel free to correct me if that is wrong info.

It sounds like the ich medication hit the fish too hard or the ich just weakened the fish too much and they have developed an internal bacterial problem. Unfortunately you may lose some of the fish. Use some medication for internal bacterial problems if the stuff you have doesn´t treat this. You should also keep doing the water changes regularly until the fish get better then go back to the water change cycle that link recommended once the fish are healthy again. Don´t forget though that water changes with water of a different temp. to the tank water can also stress the fish. don´t forget to add water conditioner to the new water as well and good luck.
