Nice gator snapper! My stinkpot doesn't swim much either but he does come to the surface to eat pellets. The only pellets I have that sink are shrimp pellets and they're pretty small for a snapper to eat. I'm always on the look out for sinking turtle pellets when I'm at a pet store. Will your turtle eat earthworms and crickets? My stinkpot loves them! If you give your turtle a well balanced diet then there isn't much problem with him not eating turtle pellets.

dusting them will pollute your water and make the top cloudy just feed it worms some bugs like crickets but mostly fish and a few pellets to help with nutrition don't know of any sinking turtle pellets

alligator snappers are ambush preditors they rarely try to chace there food even when young un like the common snapper the sit like a rock and twitch that little pink thing in there mouth and wait for a fish to try and eat it and then turn the tables on it so for the most part not an active turtle but a very very cool looking one

by the way thats a nice looking tank and a cute little turtle i love how they think there all tuff even when there tiny but keep i mind these turtles get around 3 feet across and can weigh over 100 pound and will live as long if not longer then you so this is a pet for life plus there slowly becomeing endangered
