Bay AREA!
Okay. I am getting a salt water tank in a few days, and I have already mess up the freaking process. Here's my dilemma: I accidentally added too much salt during my salt mix process. The box says I am supposed to add 1/2 cup of salt for every gallon of distilled water. I ended up having 28 gallons of distilled water in a bin with 10 cups of salt. (This is why you should never ever read instructions the night before when you're semi drunk). What should I do?
Should I start another batch and discard the 28 gallons (what a waste of 10cup of salt...)? Or should I mix and match? Please let me know what would be the best thing for me to do. Thank you so much in advance!

Can't you add 4 more cups? Not sure of the question...

Oh godme I am an idiot. I feel pretty embarrassed right now. This is what happens when you work 12 hours a day and start can't think straight. Thank you Darnell you solved my problem.

lol, I hear ya'! Been there done that many times :)

10 cup = 20g saltwater. Very simple. You should get a 5g and add 4 1/2 cups of salt into the bin and dump 5 gallons into the mixer and keep doing that until what you need thats how i measure my water because those trash bins are off by couple to several gallons when filled

Get a hydrometer and make sure that your salt content is right even if you follow the directions. That way if its off a little you can adjust. Things like water temperature affect salinity. Really just can't have a tank without a hydrometer.

Best post in the thread. Go to sleep dustin.

Thanks guys. I am planning on getting a refractometer and will post some pics soon.
