ok so i've been talking to a guy about buying a curved glass panel that measures about 48-55" across and is about 36" tall and at least 1/2" thick and tempered. i was wondering if this would be ok to use in a plywood tank? i know how you guys always talk about thickness and i can never find a calculator that does it. so what you do you guys think? thanks a ton!! :headbang2

how would you make it water tight with the frame thats your biggest prob

that's another thing i was going to ask. from the picture they look like they're completely curved so i'm thinking it'd be a little hard to secure it to wood.

If you don't make the tank any wider than that, it could work.

Sealing won't be any harder than a ny other plywood tank.

Double up the bottom and route a slot for the glass and a frame for the sides and top. Brace both top corners of the glass from front to back. Silicone in place and tell everyone it's a custom $3000 tank :headbang2.
Ok, now fill in the blank... $_________.__ :D

i don't think i'm going to go much wider than that, i was looking for depth. 48-55" wide, 36" tall and maybe equally as deep as wide depending on how wide the panels actually are. he's about four and a half hours away but for fifty bucks i don't really think i can pass that up :nilly:

Jump on them. If the two will give you a full semi-circle, you'll have a tank to die for.

a window of some sort or something, they were cut too long so he needed to get rid of them.
