I Need Some Quick Help!

Am looking to buy some red belly piranna's i have allready read up on them and know what am getting myself into but what i dont know is are piranna's nocturnal??

i dunno but when i had some a while back they were such sissys that they would only come out when it was dark in the room and i was really far away from the tank.

lol...piranhas are naturally very skittish fish. Just leave your light on and let them get used to it.

P's are not nocturnal mike08, and piranhas are naturally skittish, you should put your tank in a place where people normaly pass by so that the P will get use to it.

They arent, like most disc characins they are skitish, keeping them in a group and adding lots of cover and plants help to reduce their nerves.

They are often more active in the dark or at night only because they are more comfortable. Like everyone says they are very skittish.

And for this P's to be very skittish is that you have to keep in mind if your planning to get ornaments in your tank is to not buy ornaments that have sharp or rough edges. Piranha when startled goes beserk on the tank and swims in any direction causing them to hit any obstacle in the tank.
