hey guys, i was at my LFS a few days ago and saw a fish called a sabertooth baracuda. is this the and the armadus or payra the same thing? how big do they get? good with tank mates such as florida gars and bichirs? any help would be nice. thanks

pics would help, this is a common name for multiple species.
Damn I hate that blanket, general term that LFS lazily use to describe these fish.

i cant get any pics:( they look just like a payra, have the needle like teeth, all silver and were going for 25 bucks as babies about 3 inches long.

Black Chrome/ yellowish = Scomb.

Liquid metal/very silvery = Rhaphiodon.

Where's the dorsal fin? Dead give away on Rhaphs, as it's set much further back then any of the Hydro species.

probably not the geatest idea to put em with a florida if you get one. mine and it seems alot of other floridas have a huge desire to kill anything silvery.
