What?

i breed red zebras.....peacocks and EB....

lately ive been getting super bored with them...

has anyone every had a break down like this before?

ive had them for 11 years...

and yes i have like 400-500 peacocks.....

I'd have a breakdown if I had that many fish of the same kind as well... there is no individual recognition anymore, you are just maintaining a school of fish, cannot follow, watch individuals grow.

if you don't need the money try selling the business and then go out and find a few rare fish to appreciate. give them names, and enjoy having a pet rather than a fish farm :)

I'm going through the same thing with my African Cichlids. I had three tanks with nothing but. However, I have grown tired of the constant drama (i.e., fighting, injuries, death). My hospital tank has been occupied non-stop for four years.

One of the main reasons I'm in this hobby, is for the relaxation, and lower blood pressure, it brings. The AC drama is not relaxing. In addition, ACs generally do not have that much personally. Even my two large Fossorochromis Rostratus, while very beautiful, are nothing but eating machines (and potential killers if they are in a bad mood).

I have started switching over to SA and CA cichlids, certain hybrids, and community fish. I love the personality of my Blood Parrot, Titanium Flowerhorn, and Red Spot Gold Severum. I like the peace and harmony in the tanks that have no African Cichlids. I can finally sit back and truly enjoy those tanks. Funny, I rarely watch my remaining African Cichlid tank (150G). I just feed them and do maintenance on the tank.
