Ok so I am in the market for another cichla grow out tank and have a few limited options.. Due to a large flight of stairs and a 90 degree turn entering my fish room I feel I have only a few choices which I am not super happy about but will have to make due. I basically had a standard 240 gallon acrylic on order until I made a mock up model of the tank and realized that it will never fit. I wish I could just take the hamma out and do a little renovation but can't. Any other ideas are welcome... help a bradda out ;)

Please take the dimensions into thought and not so much the volume of the tanks. I won't be purchasing another grow out after this for quite some time I assume.

** I have to call up the site I found these two tanks at they may not ship.

Can you get an 8 foot sheet of glass down the stairs? If so, have you considered building an 8x3 right in the fishroom?

I really thought about building a tank down therr. The problem is I have a lack of time to really dedicate to it since I work a lot. Two, thats a lot of water if something happens to go wrong. I can't take it outside or to the garage to fill it up, test it and see if it will hold up. (even though I am great with my hands) Another problem is, I will only have a front panel to view my fish :( I know I'm greedy but their colors seem to be different at every perspective. Also, once it down there in the fish room, it's there for good.

i think a 210g would be the best bet. you get the max length, width, and height that you could fit down there

This is why I need your guys help... I like the 200 because I get the length and width but even though it is 20 inches tall instead of 24 inches and it's only a 4 inch difference, it seems like a lot more then it really is, visually. I don't want fish jumping because it's too shallow.

The 210 I feel mutual about .. max length width and height.

I have to make a phone call about these two tanks and there is a possibility they won't ship either of these tanks for me.

The 180 is my last resort and the 240 wide, I love the width and height but I am not a big fan of the short length. it's :bs:

can you go 7 x 30 x 30? i have a freiend with a 6x30x30 and it looks awesome. but since you dont like 6'

6' isnt that bad of a tank i have a 125 at 6' and it looks great not to mention it leaves you space for a few 20 gallon breeders my vote is for the 240 allows you to also stock it with more fish and gives them more room to wander around from front to back.

i would say the bigger the better

Go with the 210, the difference between 20" & 24" is really obvious. 20" seems too short for an 8' tank.
