Wow that is a lot of fish in that one tank!!!

I find a mix of 50/50 and 10k lighting bulbs work the best for "true" coloring.

wow!!! no-one can help....dose anyone have "GLO" that he or she is using it and can tell me if i should get one...

The Hagen T5 HO lights are pretty nice. Very bright.

Be warned- they run very very hot.
do you have any recommendation's, i don't trust the pit-shops last time i bought one,pit-shop owner tolled me that it works great but it didn't,these guys sell you stuff that they need to sell,no what i want...

There must be some decent stores in SoCal to shop at.

For your application (cichlids, with no plants) I would probably use T5 lights. Not necessarily the Hagen brand. I also recomend Coralife Aqualight double t5s. Very compact. Great price. Includes bulb. There are two models. One with 10k and True actinic. One with full spectrum and some lower k rating.

I just went through this...

There are several of the GLO bulbs that work...

I just put in some T-8 replacement bulbs...

2 of them were Aqua Glo and one was thier marine bulb... the package was purple... I can't recall the exact name... maybe - "Marine Glo"...?

They look great and the algae in one week looks fantastic...!

All that being said... I know that there are probably better combinatioins... The AG bulbs are very good when it comes to how the fish look... but they don't say much on the bulb or package...

One thing I would differently is start off with a 4 bulb fixture... this way you can have some variety...

Good Luck...!!!
