I need your opinion!

I've got a 55gal tank sitting at home waiting for some monster fishes, and I need advice on what I should stock it with. I want to go with one big aggressive/semi-aggressive fish.

My thoughts are:
Oscar
African Pike
Bichir
Cichlids

Anything else? I realize that some of these fish are going to get too big for my tank eventually, but I could keep them in the 'growout' until I got a bigger tank.

Edit: I live in MA and therefore no Piranha unfortunately (Sanchezi is calling my name...)

some Cubans can reach 6ft plus you would need to feed him 3 times a day but I'm sure they will be easy to find just go to Miami and you find some floating in

just my opinion but get that bigger tank then get what you want not what fits now.

I wouldnt really keep anything over 6-8" in there, parhaps go with some nice rainbow fish? or some geophagus?

Or fill it with exodons?

a shoal of exodons would be nice in a 55 gallon tank. You can fit ~40-50 in that there

the fish you are thinking wouldn't even last a year in that size of a tank...

It is cool to have "monster" fish but get the tank to house the monster you want first.

check this thread. there are lots of cool fish that you can have in such tank. I recommend 2-4 Ctenopoma acutirostre with lots of plants.
