I never realized the Eskimos did stuff like this. It is a little scary.
Also I did not know that the tide changes made the ice move up and
down 40 feet in most cases.
The tide goes out even under the ice - this is an amazing video.
Very interesting what natives have done for ages.

Scary things to do when needing to eat. I'm thankful of where I am in life. Thanks for sharing.

very interesting. Thanks for this
your welcome.. i was really surprised to see this... such risks on a daily basis just to make money to survive.....it must have been nerve wracking for the camera man to film....

if you think about it the camera man had to be in there longer and go further in to make some of those shots. Very cool. Personally I always wanted to try ice caving, I have a planned trip to do it sometime in my life

that's crazy. I wouldn't do it. Also, am I losing my mind or is John Hurt narrating that? At 1st I was like "Oh, David Attenborough, I must have missed this part of Planet Earth", then I realized who it was. I never caught the Human Planet series.

Weird, it links me to youtube then links bac to webpage, then shuts off. Damn phone...

I did see a documentary on tribal villages living in arctic areas, there was this father who walked his kids to school, it was considered the most dangerous walk to school ever documented. Dude had to slide on thin ice over near frozen rivers and his kids were like 'I'm scared'. Terrifying to watch.
