It’s been so hot and humid here, today being the second day of unbearable humidity.
I got a weather alert for a thunderstorm causing hail, heavy rain, and damaging winds. I had to get my swing canopies brought in and round up a couple guineas that hadn’t gone in the coop yet. As I closed the coop door I saw a whitish cloud that was really low. I knew I’d want a picture so I ran for my phone.
As I opened my garage door I was shocked to see what looked like a funnel forming!
I was shaking. Fear or excitement, I’m really not sure. Likely both.
After running to get my kids in the basement I was right back outside to get pictures and video. I really wanted to soak up my first, and maybe only tornado experience.
And if that wasn’t enough, a second one started forming!
This is the second one. I think it touched down ever so briefly, but can’t be sure.
I had always said if I was going to see a tornado I wanted it to be off in a field where I could be safe and see it clearly. And that’s just what I got. Hopefully not too much damage was done to the crops. I think the horrible flooding hitting now is going to do more damage then they did.
