I purchased a 65 gallon! I have a question for you!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its my second biggest tank. In any event I decided to carry it from my car into my house and down the stairs using my arms and my hips as balancing tables! I threw out my back :)

This tank may seem small for many of you.

Who here among us has wrangled a larger tank all by themselves? Lets hear it?!

Has anyone carried a 100 gallon alone? 200? 300? is that even possible?

i couldnt even carry my old 60 gallon alone, so kudos. hope your back feels better.

80 gallon seems to be the limit for me. It's not the weight, it's trying to turn around doorways with my own body in the darn way! I suppose a 100 gallon tank, if it were tall enough to be thin enough to squeeze it, and my body, through a doorway, would need glass prohibitively thick and heavy, anyway. So taller is out. And wider is out, because I already barely get through. That leaves longer! So if somebody has a tank with the same height and width as a 75/80 gallon tank and it was just longer at the ends, I could probably hack it.

Did all of my tanks myself some of the worst was my 150 that i resealed wanted it up didnt want to wait for help so dragged it through the house lifted on end on the stand then the other. My 200 went the same way. The absolute worst was my 110 x high. Couldnt move for a week after that one it is a old model and was alot.heavier than i ever would have thought. Ive moved all 14 of my tanks a couple of years ago when i bought a house moved the all in a month. My wife helped with the smaller stuff. It just suck most of my tanks weigh alot more than me im only 160lbs.

160? Wow! I'm 220lbs and I have a hard time!

Do you have a pair of those heavy duty suction cups? Not those harbor freight ones, but the single cup w/ a handle ones. They will help out a lot.

I'm not trying to move anything big myself, I've already injured my back so I don't need any flare ups.

Being a boss is cool and all but no need to cause an injury that will last a lifetime. Play it safe!
