I've always since I was a little kid have been fascinated with keeping insects and trying to get them to breed. It just feels good knowing that they have bred because of you, the sole provider to them. I took care of them and they bred free-willingly with my care. Wierd....whatever. I've bred crickets, millipedes, mealworms, superworms, them rolly-polly bugs(sowbugs, pillbugs) and looking at some roaches now. Currently breeding superworms now. I spend time looking on google and youtube at how people keep theirs and tweaking my setups. Constantly looking for ways to make the superworms breed more, or a good water source that if I was in a business would be the least cost on me yet won't slow down superworm survival.

I would sooo love to breed feeder insects as a business. I'm not even money hungry for the money, just breeding different roaches and mealworms, etc. would be fun. Just thinking of this kind of stuff makes me want to take some entrepenurship(way off in spelling) classes at my college. I want to actually, should apply before the spring season starts actually.

What you think guys? Sounds wierd? lol Anyone know of people who do this? I have a thread in the breeding section devoted to my Mealworm/Superworm breeding if anyone thinks I'm joking about my obsession. lol

This is literally what I had paused as I was writing this. lol http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=moose9900#p/u/10/3tSGMBgifx4

Well a business adventure would be fun and feels like something that I would actually be interested in.

try some blaptica dubia.
easy breeders!
im going to be breeding them soon, once i get my hand on some females.
damn shop in HK only gave me males.:irked:
and its not weird at all!
ive had my mealworm setup for over a year now, never had to buy extras.LOL

That's totally next on the list. Don't have the money but when I get some again I'm totally going to start breeding mealworms and them roaches. I just want to know how to breed them all.

mealworms just breed on their own, dubia too.
not much effort needed.

for the dubias,
just keep them warm and provide food.
no substrates the best.
wait a few months and you will have too many to handle!
you can get them CHEAP (a few dozen for just a few dollars) from local online dealers.
just check em out on any invertebrate forums.

I couldn't get past the smell. :barf: Insect poop smells terrible. It reminds me of the rat lady I used to buy me feeder rats and crickets from. Just a smelly lady. Good luck in all you insect breeding adventures. I hope I read about you in Forbes Magazine for being the richest insect breeder in the world. You may not have any friends cause you'll stink, but who needs friends when you have more money than you know what to do with. :D
