I really want a burm so bad haha! At hamburg I held one and it was so awesome! It would be in my house if they were not illegal in NY... Sometimes the law sucks...

I have no problem with people getting such snakes if/when they are truly prepared to get them... but the vast majority are bought withuot truthfully considering the full dynamic...
Firstly isn't size alone, it's size and age. Not only will you have a 10'+ snake to deal with... but you will have a 10'+ snake to deal with for 20+ years... Ask yourself, are you at a place where you can honestly predict a fair assumption of the next 20 years and can you allot the time/space/finance to properly maintain such a snake?
Are you married now? and if not are you willing to sacrifice an otherwise perfect mate because they are not interested in starting a family with a 10' snake in the house?
While I know there are a handful of very responsible large snake keepers in the world... there are a lot more than a handful of large snakes out there....
