I regret getting white sand substrate..

Ive learned my lession... White sand with a large mouth bass, oscar, 4 bluegill, warmouth and a pleco. Oh boy the poop. The poop........

It's just easier to see...and easier to clean up. But you probably do have to clean more often to keep it looking good.

Pleco's are light color substrate users worst enemy... Mine poops like no tmr, and within 24 hours of cleaning the tank, i start seeing poo everywhere...

Mix some black sand in with the white. You won't notice the poop as much. Plus it looks better.

I have black sand and even then the turds stand out, I thought I'd get away with a 3 inch pleco, but he is a crap machine!

i feel your pain. i have a similar stock with pool filter sand and i have the same problem. all my fishes poo is very dense too so my gravel cleaner has a hard time picking it up. i also will be switching to some small grained gravel.
