I rescued a Dat

Hey guys, I'm just sharing some pictures I took of a baby IT datnoid that I rescued this morning. Needless to say, the store I got it from was a real crap hole. The guy that owned the place ended up giving me 2 baby IT's, of which 1 is still living. I pretty much knew the other one was going to die before I got home, oh well I tried. The 1 that is still living has a bit of eye cloud and a sunken stomach. I imagine that he'll start eating when he gets more acclimated to the water. We'll wait and see what happens.

I've never been able to find either of those two worms live, anywhere local.



Sadly, it seems that this little guy is also blind. It's that, or he has bad vision do to cloudy eyes. I just noticed this as I tried to feed him some frozen mysis shrimp to no avail. The piece's were drifting right by his face. He also hangs out in the open unlike any of my other dats... I'll just let the clean water, a little salt, and frequent water changes do the work.

Thanks. I'm very surprised also. I have 2 other small dats that are 100% stable.

Great job, its generally advised against but i always would, the poor thing is lucky you went in!!
He looks thin but a lovely fish, get him some earthworms they cant resist
Cant wait to see him fattend up and happy!
