Since then i learned my pinktail chalceus is actually a yellowfin chalceus, and about 2 days ago i added some plants to the top of the aquarium and just heard some splashing sounds outside of feeding time.

I guess i was wrong, although my yellowfin chalceus will leave the underwater plants alone it will grab the ones hanging above it.

Should i move the plants so it wont or just accept it as part of its diet?
Its a monsterra plant.

Are you sure it is eating the plant and not something sitting on it? I watched the video in slow motion, and the jump looks pretty aimed.

Yes it kept happening like 10x before he stopped doing it, ive seen him chew on part of the leafs before swallowing it too.

Ive read on this forum from another member that their chalceus ate their underwater plants too, thats why im pretty certain its actually going for the plant itself.

I kept both yellow fin and pink fin Chalceus in my planted tank, and they never eat plant.

That guy whose yellow fins ate plans, that might've been me. Mine sure did! Even Anubias (albeit only new leaves before they unrolled and hardened)

Thanks for sharing your experience. Looks like it's hit or miss or something in between.
