First off, please don't even make an issue about what store this is. please don't even ask.
I like the store, I buy from them often, and am not trying to start a negative thread about them. I just want info about the actual parasites.

Any idea what these are?
Where they might have come from?

Could they have contaminated other fish in the store?
Do you think it is safe to buy fish from them?

Notice the worms on the rock by the fish, and the brown spots moving around inside the fish. They were under it's skin. ewwww!

I shot this with my iphone, so please forgive the amateur quality.

That is rather disturbing to see as I have no clue myself. Was that in just that one tank or were there others in that same situation?

The whole tank itself doesn't look too happy... did you notice how dirty the gravel was?.. the the fish in the backround is completely motionless. ... I wouldn't buy from that particular tank.. and I don't know what they are.. but it's up to you wether you would buy from them or not.. depending what the other tanks look like... Did you mention it to one of the employees... ??

It was in that tank, and the one next to it. (that I noticed)
I wanted to mention it to someone. The owner was actually there. It was a bit busy, and I didn't want to wait any longer.

Those look like scavengers as opposed to parasites.

They do look to have the locomotion of something related to planeria, perhaps in the realm of dugesia..

Which is why, To the OP, you should consider not buying fish from the store. The worms themselfs probably won't hurt the fish, but they speak to the probability that the tanks are dirtier than they should be/high nitrates. High nitrates can do silent damage to fish. You don't want to buy something, and then have it die a pre-mature death. At least before buying from the store, test their water yourself.

definitely looks like scavengers and not parasites

also I don't know if you realized this but the fish is a silver side, they are usually sold in frozen blocks as food for larger carnivores, like the piranha in the background

Good Eye!! Looks like the worms beat the fish to the meal!

It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose
