I scratched my acrylic display tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is a few youtube tutorials that show how to do it. iim not sure how i feel about sanding acrylic with stock inside. but they say in the videos that its fine. i believe someone makes a magnet product now like the algae remover that has sandpaper on the one side.

its all on the outside. i had some dirt or something in the magnet algae scraper, and i didnt catch it in time. i have acrylic scratch repair from novus, but i am not trying to do it without talking to someone that has done it before. i got the tank from acrylic creations, i will call them today.

outside is simple. its not any different then polishing a car. depending on the depth of the scratch your going to start at a lower grit and work your way up to the polish. i think i started with 200 and went up in 200 grit intervals up to 3000 then jumped to 5000 and 8000. then a polishing paste with buffing wheel.

Before you start using sandpaper, suggest you look at a Novus polishing kit for acrylic. For me I would be too nervous to use sandpaper. But that's me.
