Hi let me first start by saying that ive had very few situations involving ich. ive been running a saltwater system of 55 gallons for seven years, I had recently been forced to Medicate my show system with Mardel's "copper safe" because of an ich outbreak. being 17 i am unable to setup a proper quarantine system due to my parents demands. ok now for the thick of it. I had done two 100% water changes to remove the copper and am now growing coraline algeas (with the aid of kalkawasser) That being said, ive wanted to try my hand at a new group of animals besides fish, either Cephalopods (dwarf cuttlefish in particular) or Sea horses. ive been told that due to copper leeching i would be unable to do either. I do not have the space or resources to dismember my tank to replace the silicone to which copper bonds. according to my chemistrey teacher, calcium would break the bonds and release the copper. so ive been adding a cap full of kalkwasser (calcium heavy salt water) once a day since September. I would really just like that copper gone entirely so that i might be able to house some more exotic species. Any ideas/suggestions or solutions would be Greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance.

Nate

try keeping some hermit crabs/shrimp/snails. they are sensitive to copper and it will kill em. They die you know you can't keep other copper sensitive critters.

Well i did some searching and Chelating the water with E.D.T.A removes all copper traces, i added some 3 minutes ago, i took a copper test before hand and it read zero...so Im just being through at this point. thank you for your responses. Does anyone seas any holes in the plan so far?
