i set up my 20 g saltwater tank. I am only going to have 2 clown fish in the tank, should i have more? I have been feeding my one blood worms, and he seems to like them okay. The other one i still need to purchase.
any suggestions on the interior tank setup and food would be greatly beneficial.

thank you!

2 clowns in one tank usually result in one dead because of fighting. if you do get another one... get one that is larger or smaller than the one you have now. hopefully you can pair them up that way.

not many people i hear feed salt water blood worms. try mysis

You need to start the pair as juvies or you're going to have problems. How long has your tank been set up?

I wouldn't feed them blood worms either . I would feed them a good quality marine food like formula I or formula II. Fresh water food sources don't have the correct balance of fats or amino acids for our s.w. friends. You also should supplimenet with other frozen and even fresh marine foods. You could have other critters such as clean up crew and maybe one other small fish but, post prior to buying . I hope that you did purchase 2 juvenile clowns so that they can work out their sexual relationships once one of them turns female there can be no going back for her.

i got just one little clown fish. i'm getting a larger clown fish, also my tank is pretty bare so i'm going to get some coral. thanks for the info on the food and such.
my tanks been set up a little over two weeks.

I would get another juvenile clown not a larger one and make sure that they are the same species. Is your tank cycled and stable yet man?

it seems like it is stable...
i'm looking around for a good clown fish thats a similar size.
they're hard to find out here in the boonies

If you don't find it for a few weeks you'll have to be very careful when you introduce the other clown. You'll need to keep one in a critter keeper or put in a tank divider so that they can get accustomed to one another. What sort of clown fish do you have anyway?

With salt water tanks you need to be patient. Go slow, give the tank time. Be sure you have the proper lighting if you go coral.
I set my 55 g up in May and last weekend bought a 90 gal. plus a protein skimmer. A lot of live rock. I do not remember you mentioning having live rock?
Good luck with your tank - and remember - Patients is a verchue
