After sending a email to bluegrass aquatics about the 2 red Texas he sent me. This is what I got... Sep 14, 2012 10:12:22 PM Why would you make a review calling us crooks when you got Red Texas Cichlids. There is on no way you received Flowerhorns. You received Juvenile Red Texas that have not colored up yet. Bear in mind that only sexually mature males will color up. Perhaps you should do your research before you accuse someone of being a crook. Fortunately, you actually help me out with such a review because the people that want a true Red Texas and have done theire research will know you don't want your talking about and the people who don't bother to do the research you should do for any fish you buy will believe you and leave me alone. David Estes Shipping manager. Notice in the reply he said TRUE red Texas. So I'm gonna post the 2 TRUE red Texas again just to get a second opinion.

They do to ma also, it just ate me up for him to tell me to do my home work and on top of that to say true red Texas. Heck how true can it be.its man made. If it was so true you could catch them in the river or lakes people wouldn't have to try and make them. I've seen mass pics of juvenile red Texas they all have pearls some more than others. These have none. Anyways I guess its all good you live and learn.

Looks like the only way to find out is grow them out. One way to sell real red Texas I gues is to grow out fry from the parents and see then you know for the next batch. With hybrids you never know what you'll get which is why I like them so much cause there's so much variety. I don't the the seller should of gone off on you like that either. I'm hopping that he lost your business unless it turns out they at true rt and good pricing.

I wonder what Dave the shipping manager would say after you show them the adult pics of their true red Texas, if you'd chose to grow them out of course.

I firmly stand by my original statement, those are Kamfa Flowerhorn and not Red Texas. If they are buying fish from a wholesale as Red Texas, they are gonna sell them as Red Texas regardless of what they are. Just like the whole Festae/Mayan issue, they sell the Mayan as Red Terror because thats what they are purchased as.

Rediculous statments made by blue grass. His thinking is opposite , the knowledgeable people will stay away and the people that don't know better will got to them. Females do "color up" (fade) as he put it. And many male/female rt fade young. Blue grass was belligerent to sent that to you what a sucker.

Those aren't red texas, no way, my petsmart has a batch that look just like those and they are all PK. I'd demand my money back if you paid a lot for them.

I'm not the brightest crayon but..I thought a 'true red texas' couldn't be labeled as such until after it had already faded..or else you'd never know if it would fade or not.

Maybe we can all do our homework together. Lmao. I'm going to grow them out just so I can show him the flowerhorns he sent me.I went back to his site and he took the pic down of the rt he's selling.if you click on the box it takes you to a page and he left a small pic on it.you should check it out. I know there's noways what he sent me will turn out like what he says he has.
