Ok I was filling up my 120 and it was takeing a long time and I got board watching it fill with water so I went to watch tv instead. I was checking every 10 min. and it looked fine well I forgot to check the other 10 min. and it over flowed onto my carpet. I was wondering what's a good way to get the water out of the carpet? I'm useing a rug docter right now and it's takeing for ever. It doesn't even seem to do much.

Wet/Dry shop vac, only thing that works well & fast, then a couple of fans to finish drying it.

That will get it out from under neath the rug? Are's doesn't seem to work that well. I guess I have nothing else to try though.

I would sit a pedestal fan near the run and or use a heater to dry it out, but that might cause it to go stale and stuff.

Shop vac to suck it out of the carpet, dehumidifier and fan so you don't get mold and stuff in the room.

Most shop vacs have an attachment to suck water out of upholstery. Then you will have to shampoo/clean your carpet because it will end up smelling, being you put fish water on the floor.

I overflowed the hell out of my 125g native tank. Now I sit in there while it's filling with my laptop. I think most of us that have pythons have walked away and end up putting water on the carpet. In my case I put a lot on the carpet, lol.

YES! I feel less stupid for doing water changes the old fashion way.

I know a few people who leaked water using the pythons, simply cause it takes forever and you think you can squeeze something in before it's done. With Siphon and bucket, doesn't happen.

Yeah, ok :p

Used to do my tanks like that when my biggest was one 90g that I could siphon out the window and the rest were 29g. NOT going back that with two 125g, 90g, 75g and misc other tanks. Just not gonna happen. Nope. I'll take a little bit of water on my floor every once in awhile over that.

that is why my tank is next to my TV in the living room, so I can watch tv while I do a water change and so I can watch my fish when there is nothing on tv :D
