I swam with a whale shark today

Yes they are. That is the second one Ive seen, but first from my kayak and first I jumped in to swim with. She had a tag but I couldnt get a clear picture of it. She also had dozens of cobia swimming with her. From a distance when she first popped up I saw the square head and thought at first it was a monster tiger and being in a twelve ft kayak a tiger that big could have been bad news. Ive been in boats and had tigers come up and naw on the outboards. Crazy fish.

This has been an interesting week for me with sharks. Wed I was grouper fishing and had one yak side, I was about to grab the fish and a big bull shark comes up and eats my grouper at the surface and rams my kayak. I was two miles offshore, all by my self with only about thirty minutes of light left. It could have been bad if that shark was a few seconds later and I had my hand on the fish.

The next drop I caught an even bigger shark, not sure what kind as the duskys, sandbars, etc are all confusing to me but she was huge and gave my kayak a serious tow. I have some awesome GoPro footage of both sharks but I havnt shortened them up to upload them yet.
 
no one cares about your tournament placement and your catches....we're all here for the whale shark! lol, thanks for the pics man. at this moment, i envy you
 
That is really cool. I would love to see a whale shark, but seeing one from a kayak is just freakin' awesome!
