Hey thanks to everyone for responding so quickly and welcoming me. I decided to take out my GT and sell it back to the store. I now put the armoured bichir (4.5" long) in the 33 gallon tank with the three oscars and the 6"clown knife. Now the only other problem I'm worried about is feeding the bichir. My oscars are very active with me feeding them and I need to figure out a way to get the bichir to eat before all the food is gone. Any ideas?

What kinda food?...if ur fish are messy eaters...the Bichir will pick up the scraps on the floor even after feeding time is over. Especially if you feed the O's something like Krill...really messy.... :grinyes:

I guess a good method is...well for me it works...my bichir knows when it's feeding time and it swims along the surface scanning for food....wait til that happens and drop some food along it's path....that's what I do when I want my bichir to get a good meal...otherwise I just do a all you can eat buffet...it's messy tho...

you can also try feeding floating pellets for the oscar, and once it has a mouthful of pellets and has swam to one side of the tank, drop some sinking pellets in the opposite side of the tank. by the time the oscar is done chewing and swallows the pellets the bichir should have found the sunken pellets. if the oscar starts to go for the sunken pellets, then drop in a couple more floating ones to (hopefully) distract him. :)
