Alright well I just noticed my recently bought pacu has ick. I don't beleive he got it from were I bought him. I recently added z pleco to the tank and I notcied he was weird looking. Anyway he's the only one in the tank that has it. My Red tail doesn't seem to have it and neither does my Bullhead. My question is how can I treat them with salt. Will it kill my redtail if I use the salt treatment or the pacu?

Ick can be caused by stress, did you aclimate the new fish? You have some potential monsters, if the tank is too small for them that could be the cause. Give us some more info, all tankmates, tank size, water params. And best thing to do for ick is just raise the temp up to 86 degrees. The pacu has alot of white spots on it, after raising the temp i would also buy some meds.

I recently just moved the pacu and the redtail to a 20 long ( I know how big these guys get Im having a custom tank made) I put them in there around 3 days ago and everyone seemed fine. I did notice he was stressed so I did some stress coat. He's the only one who has ick that I know of. I took the pleco out. So now iits just the pacu and red tail. There both around the samw size at 4 inches. All the water perms seem okay.

Here's the pleco right before I took him out
