I was trying to fall asleep this morning in my kids room, like always, and she has 2 aquariums in there, well i was in the process of removing paint from one of them so i could repaint it. and i noticed that there was more scrapped off then how i left it.

Well fast forward, to moments ago and i was about to fill the aquarium on the bottom and i noticed black things in the corner and it was scrapped off paint, and there was a little bit of water in the tank and the paint was sitting in the water. So my question is can that tank be used? Can i salvage the gravel?

And like i said there was just enough water in the tank to keep the sand wet.

WAS this wet paint or dry paint?

Afaik, glass, acrylic, sand, gravel, and silicon will not absorb lead or other metals or chemicals at room temperature. That's presuming there were chemicals or metals in the paint that were able to leech into the water at all.

I would rinse carefully everything off and move on. If specs of paint are mixed in with the substrate, then toss it and use something new.
