been looking at adding some different fish to my tank (300 gal) and was thinking maybe some viejas. tank houses 3 h. temporalis, 3 jack dempseys (one large female and two rescue juvies), 1 female jag, 2 salvini, 6 small firemouth, 8 silver dollars, and a spotted raphael. the 2 rescue jack dempseys are probably going in another tank as will the firemouths and salvini. i was thinking about vieja argentae or regani, the wife likes synspillum. what do you guys think? i am also thinking about h. pearsi. is there a major personality difference in these fish? how about some comments from people who have these species.

Yeah salty, you need some viejas. I like synspilum, argentea, zonatum, and bifasciatus the best...

Look at H.Bocourti too. Almost same color as Pearsi but better to me. Good laid back fish too.

Vieja/Paratheraps are varied of course. Syns, Bifas, Regani and Brieds have some of the better colors. Black Belts are the only ones I've had that caused any probs.

My Hartwegi are looking great, especially the male.

i really like the argentae. with the syns, some i love some i dont. the regani are about the same some are hot some are just too washed out. zonatums are really nice, how are they aggression wise? any thoughts on the h. pearsi?

my zonatus ia a killer, absolutely no tankmates in a 180, ive had syns, bifas all awesome fish

i know of others that have to keep their zonatus as a solo fish. that probably rules out zonatus, as my other largish tank houses a red tiger mota that wont let anything but food in his tank. i'm just looking to change things up a bit with something that is'nt too common, and these fish really caught my eye. thanx for the input. keep it coming. any other opinions? pics?

Aquamojo has an awesome Zonatum, the best one I've ever seen. I've only ever seen that one and like 2 others though.

i do like the chucos, i didnt order the chuco micros like i should have, but they will be back up for sale soon.

I prefer Argentea.
many told me is the most quiet of her family.

Although Vieja single specimen has got great individual characters, so we can notice a mild (...) one and killer ones.
