I think I'm cursed with geophagus...

So I posted a little while back about a harem of my tapajos orange heads being killed by a heater malfunction.

Woke up this morning to my grow out tank in distress - while the geophagus are doing fine 4 Vieja argentea, and 5 Pearsii have died for unknown reasons.

I performed a water change and it hasn't helped anything, the Tapajos are acting like nothing is different, the remaining argentea and pearsi are still showing signs of distress.

Poop.

Awww that sucks, man! Maybe you can put them in a smaller tank w/ daily water changes until you can nail down the problem.

I know they were small, but any signs of fighting? Water params OK?

btw, met mgamer yesterday- real nice guy. Lives like 1 mile away from me, too.

Yeah, water parameters are all normal - only thing I can think of is that it's an open top tank and somthing blew in from the window when the gardeners were doing their thing outside in the neighborhood - funny thing is the SMALLEST argentea, literally only about 1/4" in size was the only survivor, while others had gone from 1" to about 2.5" in just about a weeks time.

Been looking for argentea for 6 months now too, just a huge bummer - at least one's alive

What happened to your orange heads? I couldn't find any thread about you losing them, that's terrible! I remember reading about how hard you had to look to get them. Sorry to hear... did you lose them all?

That's a real bummer . At least it wasn't a total loss.
