Here is a couple of pics....

I am having to move him around, hes stressing my new Florida Gar...I posted the gar pic in the "Gar" section....

My pike will eat anything anytime, anyway....:) about 9.5 inches at the moment, but due to change!

Can you get some more pictures of your pike? It looks very interesting, my first thought was johanna, but upon lookin at the pictures more, I'm not quite sure. I have a few other ideas...very impressive pictures and pike!

I will post some pics hopefully this evening....

I have to move him anyways due to my new Gar is not eating...

Here are two with a better side view...

Not anthurus, which is a type of Saxatilis pike. This is definately a Lugubris group pike, whether or not its a johanna or a subspecies not entirely sure. I wanna say sp. 'lugubris' or sp. 'venezuela' but not entirely sure of that. Its in the subadult color change, so it makes it a little bit harder..haha. A couple more months and it will get adult coloring, and then it should be relatively easier to ID...i'll ask around though! ;)

It may be Cr. multispinosa. They have the wide body bar and multiple spotting as exhibited by your fish. I would guess that yours is still young based on the markings on it's head.

I lied. It is not Cr. multispinosa. It is a variant of Johanna collected in the Rio Tocantins, Cr. johanna "Maraba".

Thankz Scat...i knew it started with an M i just couldn't place my finger on it...haha. Curse those geological variants...make ID'in them that much harder. But makes them that much more desirable also...so its a two way street. Awesome johanna though! Can't wait to see adult coloration! :D

What size can I expect? He has been in the tank almost a year, started out about 2" and now hes crossing 9" very close to 10". I have him in a 46 bow, but I have a 184 but need to build a stand and get some plumbing done....

Is the 46B ok for awhile??

BTW thanxs for all the nice comments and help, he/she is by far my favorite cichlid I have ever had...Next I will post some pics of my JD....he actually eats more agressively than the pike!!
