When I came home last night I noticed what looked like pieces of fish in my tank. On closer inspection I noticed that it was pieces of clown loach. I thought "Oh crap! One of my clown loaches got killed!". Well then I started looking for the other 2 and they are nowhere to be found. I moved around the wood to make sure they weren't hiding but still didn't see them. The only fish even close to having a large enough mouth to eat one is my Loisellei. But he's only 7" and I don't think he could swallow one, much less three 3" clown loaches....or could he? Nah, no way!! I think the only explanation is that all three were killed and then the other fish picked them apart piece by piece until they were gone. They have all been together for a while and never saw any fish even look twice at one of the loaches. It's a mystery at this point. Why now? Why all 3 loaches??

Your Loisellei got the munchies? Seems unlikely I guess, but who knows? Any new fixtures with small openings?

I have a very large piece of driftwood that has a few holes in it. They always hide in the holes so I moved it around to make sure but no luck. I looked all over the floor to make sure they didn't jump out. I only found one mangled body so the other two must be somewhere right? Sorry to trouble you guys with this, it must sound pretty dumb. :screwy:

sad to lose those clown loaches.. hope you find out what happened. :(

Your theory that they were killed and picked apart seems reasonable. That sucks.

No way their in an intake tube. All three are have the protector nozzle thingy attached. If they're not in the log then I guess no more loaches for now. There just might be a loach hater in my tank. lol
