I think my fish ate some substrate?

I just got a half managuense / texas at my LFS yesterday for $3. He's only about a inch long and hes been fine in my tank for about a day now. I just looked in the tank to check on him and hes sitting on the bottom of the tank with a lump in his belly. I have no idea what he could have eaten but its so big that he can barely swim. I netted him out and tried to feel it and push it out of him but had no success. I just hope he spits it out by morning :-/

Is there anything I can do other than wait?
 
try to push it out lol that can kill him a halg jag and tex that seems undeterminable yeah my own word as of right now and it will outgrow that ten quick it seems to me that you are getting a little fish crazy i would lay back and take it easy for a while till you have a real home for your fish buddy
 
you can warm the water up and put some epsom salt in to incourage fast digestion.

He'll be in a bigger tank soon. Hes too small to put in a tank with anybody else yet but I am going to attempt to build a 240g and hopefully when these fish grow out I can keep my midas, jd, butti, trimac, and jag together all in that tank. Maybe a couple less depending on who gets along.

I tried like 2-3 times already.. I can't get any good pictures. My camera and my gf's digital camera both decided to break within a week of each other.. She gets a SLR soon though so I will have amazing quality fish photos soon. Anyways.. He seems to be doing alright now. I was freaking out a couple of minutes ago thought because I couldn't find him anywhere. I had to take everything out and I found him under some decor thankfully.
