hi, is me again. well, my male severum seem to be sick again. and like last time i dont have any pictures cuz i dont have access to a digital camera.
anyway, my tank water parameters checked out fine (tested it about two days ago) and ph level is somewhere between 6.5-7.0.
as for the severum, well, i have been looking at fish diseases whenever i had free time for the past few days online. and base on the pictures i see online and the description they gave for the diseases, to me it looked like it has the early stage of COSTIA. but, it is the only fish in the tank that seem to be affected. thou, i am not 100% sure it is COSTIA, but as a precaution i have already isolated him.
the symptoms my severum are showing are:
1.) i have seen it spend most of its time hanging out in the surface, right next to the filter outlet. if its not on top, it hang out on the bottom. and dont seem to move to much from its spot. BUT, it does once in a while chase the female severum in the tank for a while than goes back to its regular place.
2.)it seem to be eating less than it usually does.
3.)some of the scale on the dorsal fin area (right between the fin and the body) are a bit raised and the raised area is a little bit whitish in color. but its does not seem fluffy like cotton. and it seem to have spread a bit. because a few days ago, it use to be just on the right side of him, and only towards the bottom of the dorsal fin that seem to be raised. now, is on both left and right side and going up along the dorsal area.
4.)and a few of the scales near the tail area is little bit whitish in color but does not seem to be raised. but like above is not fluffy like cotton. just that the color at that area is whitish compare to the rest of the body.
BUT
5.)but, when fish are sick wont they wont resist catching. because when i was netting it out for quarantine it gave a bit of a fight (it splashed water all over my room). which to me seem to be a bit too energetic for a sick fish. but, the other signs on the fish and its decrease in appetite seem otherwise.
so, does those seem like symptoms of COSTIA (base on comparing picture i seen online, that was the one that look the most similar) on is it something else.
any input is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
