i have a 2-2.5 inch GT i had for around 8 weeks ( http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358855 ) that showing signs of being sick. She has a lost of appetite and eats very little when she does. She will not eat any type of veggies. i have tried several types with no luck ( http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365326 )
Sometimes the poo is clear and stringy (no color, not white) and other times its the color of the food given but still stringy. I thought she might have parisites. i have tried several med for parisites but no luck. my water level are Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5, the temp is kept 77-78 f, she in a 55 gallon to herself with a fluval 305 canister for filtration. the tank get vac once a week with a 30-40% water change. I really would like to help heal her but im at a lost at what else to do. Any suggestions???

I think every green terror that I have ever owned has gotten internal parasites, Have you tried parasite clear by jungle and feed food coated with metro. that's what I use and has always worked. I hope this helps you

Nobody is quite sure why a lot if not most Green Terrors face internal pathogens. For some unknown reason they are proned to either internal bacterial infection, parasitic, stress induced, or constipation. Its extremely hard to narrow it down from here.

If the GT is still eating start with medicated food. Praz and Metro work well. Keep a steady supply of garlic and peas in the GT's diet. That will help the GT keep its internal pathogens under control.

Have you tried introducing tankmates. Or will you? Some fish that are lone in a tank will not eat as much as to being to timid. She is small still and is probaly scared. I would add some Giant Danios in the tank and maybe some other cichlids. U could add a community around her. Just an opinion. My convict wouldnt eat much until I added my 3 inch GT with him. He eats a lil more now but is still timid to go to the top and grab pellets.

Turn the Temp up, I wouldnt add no Meds for a bit. Too much meds can actually do more harm than good sometimes. I would add more fish to the tank, and then give her a week to see if she comes around.

i cant get her to eat any veggies :( refer to this page to see what i tried for veggies... http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...d.php?t=365326 i even try to hold out for 7 day with no luck. when she does eat its flakes, brine shrimp, blodworms and sometimes pellets but not often. if i can find the med food ill try it.

1st the tank to small to have tank mates. its only a 55. she is very active and not timit. she comes to me when i walk or set next to the tank. as you can see in the vid. she is in my fish room surrounded by other tanks and fish. she ate well up untill about 2 weeks ago now she barely eats and her poo is clear most times. i can try turning the temp up a degree or too but i dont like my tank running in the 80's

everyone thanks for the advise. :) i will try anything just to see her healthy. hate to loose her.

i dont think 55g is to small for a female GT with a community.

Sorry to hear that, I lost two monster GT's to the same problem. Its amazing how many I seen or heard about dieing like that, its a shame cuase some of them grow up to be very nice!!

cool. i have done alot of research with gold saum GT. Most website and the people i have talk to say no tank mates with a 55. very few say other wise. I myself fell that 55 to small to have a comunity fish with a GT. I know the tank looks empty because she so small but when she is an adault the tank will look full. but thanks again for your input. :D
