I got a text message from my fiance today telling me that Harry, my beloved female Jag doesn't look too good. Hiding behind the sponge filter with no slime coat.

So, I come home, and she is missing slime coat, he sides are all tore up with dead flesh like hanging off.

She was fine last night when I checked her. I tried netting her to move her, and she has the strength of a horse. She fought, and swam across the tank, then slowly went back to her spot.

I noticed that she used to be slender, and always hungry.. then I noticed she got plump, and he "anal/vent" area started to protrude. I thought she might have eggs. It's been 2 months, and still the same.

Tank readings are the normal- ammo 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 5. they get a water change every other day of 25%.

It's a 125 gallon tank. Eheim Pro II , and 2 AC110's for filter.

Tank inhabitants are male midas, male red terror (seperated in tank as he is new), and 7 bichirs ranging from 5"-12".

I move the pots around, and gravel vac each time I do water changes, and I add dechlor.

She hasn't been eating lately, which makes me think a few things: 1. egg impacted 2. constipated 3. being bullied

When we first added the Midas, she shook her head, bit pots, chased him around the tank.. she cleared the slate piece in the tank, and I was sure they were going to spawn- but he has no interest in her. he doesn't even go near her, so I don't think being bullied is the cause.

I know to use frozen peas w/epsom salt for constipation, but how do I get her to eat it? What is she's egg impacted?

HELP!!!!

these pics are from when I vented her.. I don't know, but this doesn't seem like her vent.. second pic is of her plump and happy... looks like scale protrusion on her belly, but it's not.. just patterning.

Ok, well, I moved the terror over to her side, and the midas to the blocked off side..

She's out and swimming around.

I think maybe he was trying to breed with her because she's not fat anymore. But, no eggs.. so who knows.
