I picked up a 5 inch leichardti about a week ago. He ate the first day but since then has loss its appetite. I notice a 1/4 inch white poop hanging out of his butt for a couple days now. Any advice?

What's your tank temperature? Is he by himself, or is there any tankmate?

The white poo doesnt go away? Maybe its protruding anus. Pics pls...
Its the first week so its hard to tell, maybe its still acclimatising to the new environment.

Also, what did you feed him? Might want to try and give him a dose of PraziPro, as it could be internal parasites.

Tank is at 82 degrees ph 7.5 and I fed him freeze dry and frozen blood worms, crickets, frozen fish, and prawn. Sorry no pics all I have is a phone camera. The poop just got 1 inch longer and looks like white string.

when you feed him frozen food do you thaw it first or dump it directly into tank ?

I just dump it in. I been dumping it in for the past 5 yrs and no problem.

Seems like an internal parasite. Try to give it a dose of PraziPro to help him flush out anything in its digestive system. Should solve the problem.

i wouldnt suggest feeding it frozen fish - and anything... should sort of thaw it out that way it doesnt freeze its internal organ..this is jsut my opinion. im sure many just dump it in like you... Ive used to do that but after i thought about it seems like its best to thaw it a bit
