I've grown my 2 NTTs from .5" to 4.5" and love the guys. They started taking massivore when they were just big enough to get the pellets in their mouths and are stable almost all the time.

Last year, I remembered one of the NTT's was acting very stranger after/during a water change. It looked like he couldn't swim! :( he would just float around and do the occasional spurt movement. I thought for sure he was a goner  The next day, he was fine and dandy and swimming with the other fish, eating like normal :nilly: I thought, "sweet! this guy is tough!"

Well yesterday, came home to him doin the same thing again. swimming funky and kinda just drifting around the tank. breathing wasn't heavy or anything and he was stable :(. This morning, he was laying on his side on the bottom of the tank. breathing still seemed normal and he got up a few times to greet me but would then flop back down. Hoping for another miracle!

What do you guys think this is and how do I prevent it from happening again?!

Mmm strange, was this after a wc too?are the tank mates ok?

x4 of my NTT (4"-6") does that all the time, laying flat on its side all day until food come into the tank and they swim crazy. Wish you the best of luck

oh, no. i know what you're talkin about with this and its not the same. My big IT's will do this when they're scared and stuff but this is different.

All other tank mates are fine, or were when i left them this morning...
