I have a female rotkeil and what I believe is a male red spotted gold and just the past few days the gold has been smacking his tail in the rottie's face and shaking/vibrating around her. When I first put him in the tank 3 weeks ago she hated him, continuously chasing him around and nipping him, now this seems to have calmed down and it looks like they are displaying breeding behaviour. The Rotkeil has also got darker and more colourful. What would be the consequences if they did spawn? Would the fry be a hybrid? I think they would be very pretty but would they be weak and considered a no go?

At this time, yes ... they would be considered a hybrid. Red spotted golds are line bred from Green Sev's originally, and rotties are currently an undescribed species.
