I think that I have a problem......

Most surely I do. 3 weeks ago I bought 5o$ in pikes from Rapps(2 c.johanna). 3 weeks prior to that I picked up 2-bellycrawlers 4'' for like 25$. This week I found a supply of sveni and bought 4 of them,3'', for 60$. Today I bought a nice juvi lugubris of some sort (possibly another johanna), 4'' from a buddyfor 20$, then cruised over to his LFS and grabbed 2 "orange pikes" for 35$. Not to mention the fact that any good shops are at least 40 miles from where I live andI drive a full size truck with a V8. So I am estimating that Ive spent roughly around 400$ getting my pike collection together,and 20$ a week for feeders(at least).Does this sound like a problem? Oh yeah, last my girlfriend gave me my walking papers cause I had to check on my johannas last nightafter a movie at 10pm. She thinks im with another chick or doing dope or something. She just doesnt understand fish first, I mean PIKES first . Im gonna miss her....Any how I hope to be posting alot pics of some bada$$ pikes soon as I work my magic with em.And I hope somebody out there feels sorry for me or even reads this rant.... I think so, though it was a long time coming. There are a lot more women around here(esp. in my line of work) than there nice fish so I think that Ive got my priorities straight. Like I said ,Ill miss her, alittle, at first....

Oh yeah, last my girlfriend gave me my walking papers cause I had to check on my johannas last nightafter a movie at 10pm. She thinks im with another chick or doing dope or something. She just doesnt understand fish first, I mean PIKES first . Im gonna miss her...

Oh man!! Thats classic! Way to represent bro!! I've been in that situation before. Key thing to do is set it straight with them from the beginning that the fish are almost always going to come first. I've done that several times, and almost all of the relationship were awesome. They even learned to love the fish. I'm married to one of them right now...the girl that is...not the fish. Although there are a few sexy pikes out there......


As for having a problem...yeah...you kinda do bro. There is this thing some of us fish keepers like to call selfcontrol from impulse buying. You've either got to have a lot of tanks, hope to get more tanks, or really big tanks because you're going to be in a world of hurting pretty soon when all those pikes start to disagree with each other....

I've done that several times, and almost all of the relationship were awesome. They even learned to love the fish. I'm married to one of them right now...the girl that is...not the fish. Although there are a few sexy pikes out there......

I guess that im gonna need a few more tanks then. I hoppe that I didnt make you think that they are tanked together. That would be genocide. Im keeping all of the lugs 4''-7'' in a 60g with a ton of pots and pvc, along with the bellycrawlers. The svenis are my attempt at finding a breeding pair, and the "oranges" are mellow and chill with them in a 30 gal planted tank with some convict trash dither fish, also heavily potted for pike cover. I think that a couple more 60s and a 30g or so should be chill for a few months, If I find cinctas though Im done for or am gonna have to have a big socal pike sale...

Now you're thinkin!! As for the 'oranges' (xingu I) being mellow...that is gonna be short lived. Once they reach 6 to 8"...their whole attitude changes...actually all your pikes attitudes will change at 6" to 8"...so be ready for the extra unforseen aggression...haha.
