Just put my oscars into my divided 4ft, know they don't like each other but I'm hoping they become accustomed to each other, gonna leave them for a while, bad idea or nothing bad about it? Took this photo of them today trying to kill each other

As long as you leave the divider there until they simmer down.

Let them be that way, for a week or so , till they get accustomed seeing each other.
Then under supervision you can leave them together for few hrs and then decide if divider stays or goes

2 nice looking O's. IMO it's a 4' tank it won't work long term, eventually they will be 12"-14" and 2 of them in a 75gl tank is not a recipe for success.

Update

They have stopped attacking through the divider, pretty much ignore each other, thinking of taking the divider out in the next few days and watching them for a hour or so to see what they do

Try a mirror against the side of the tank., works for me!
