So this is a funny thing that my redtail does... So when its feeding time, I turn off all the lights and have a distant light on to give me enough light to see whats going on... So anyways... I drop in a piece of juicy shrimp and when it hits the bottom he checks it out and gobbles it up... Well this is the funny thing... I have an electric blue cichlid in the tank (mind you that he is big enough that the redtail wont eat him, the red tails like 3 months old, cichlid getting new home soon) so sometime when I drop the shrimp in the cichlid with grab it and drag it a little and peck at it and then realize, hey im too small for this and just leave it alone... Well after the cichlid touches it, my redtail will not eat it.... I have noticed this the past few feedings... So I was like ok well Ill take the shrimp out after he touches it and drop it back down thikning its a new piece... still wont touch it.. Now if I throw another piece in there and the cichlid doesnt touch it he gobbles it right up.... Does it everytime.... So I have to now keep digging out pieces of shrimp cause he wont eat them since someone else touched them... I find it pretty funny... Anyone elses rtc do this...

I have found a good way to feed mine is tou use feeding prongs or similar, i use a litter picker to feed my TSNxRT and rays, then i know there will be no waisted food, they learn to feed by hand and get used to foreign things in tank and gets them to come up iont he tank for the food.

Would be good to get a vid of this as above. never seen a picy cat before.
