india
in my tank i have
10"+ 2 oscars (pair)
10"+ 1 midas or RD or midasxRD(idk)male
8"ish 1 GT male
a few cubans
1 Red texas
5 pairs of cons
1 pair salvini

i have my eyes on a nice male GT 9"+ can i put this guy in my tank
i am not sure it might work as my other GT might get a little nasty towards him, but wanted to know for sure, so as not to miss a nice opportunity
thank you in advance for your advice

^ That, and the additional GT male would be the least of my worries with this community.

yeh, how big is the tank,if tank is biggenough give it a shot, if not then dont.

my tank is 225(uk)g
6' long
2.5' wide
and 2' deep
there are two filters running on it at 900 ltrs/hr
so tank is not at all the issue
as of now there isn't any problem other than a little bit of chasing around and a little bit of flaring up at each other
but my male Oscar always comes in handy when putting fights out :)
for now he rules but later i know he is gonna lose to some other beast in my tank till then he is the king

no 5 pairs of cons that would wreak havoc. salvinis would as well possibly the oscars too and the nics and the GT and the RD. it would not work. too many pairs and it just wouldnt work

What sort of filters are you running? 1800Lph (actual or rated?) isn't a whole lot..
i pumped some water into another tank for ten minutes and assumed it works
at the same speed for the rest of the fifty minutes, here i don't trust the actual rating given especially for chinese made aquarium products
and i wouldn't be bothered with that much as i do 50-60% water changes every 5 days or so

the other fish have been living there for a long time like nearly 7 months or so
there are only 5 cons
sorry not 5 pairs
the total number of pairs is 5 pairs
1 pair of oscars
2 pairs of cons
1 pair of salvinis
1 pair of cuban chiclids
the rest are all single
