I thought glass tanks needed all 4 sides supported?

Just picked up a brand new 75 gallon Marineland tank and stand at Petsmart for $250.

Got home and started to look at it more and saw that it in reality is only supported in the middle and the sides.

Here is a pic. It sits inside of the stand, but not supported on all 4 sides. I am going to assume Marineland knows what they are doing. The tank did seem lighter than I recall a 75 gallon.

if its got plastic trim round the bottom it will be fine

Yes the tank has trim on top and bottom.

Check the thickness of the glass if it feels lighter......should be 5/8". If it isn't, I guess they're just getting cheaper and cheaper with assembly

It is good to go. Those are intended for plastic trimmed tanks. The support really needs to be in the corners
