Where the Parachromis roam...
After looking for another Pike and not being able to find one,my local LFS's had "bellycrawlers" 4" for $9.99 so i bought 1.i put him my tank and he is standing up to my aggressive cichlids,Red Devil,Texas,Dovii etc...he eats pellets,flakes and loves raw shrimp!!He has a nice personality and i really like him,but i am still looking for a nice Venz!!:headbang2
 
I hope it does well with your stock. I'm planning on getting some pikes but I am waiting until I can get the ones that I am comfortable keeping. I had a chance to get a few Venz. today but since I have no experience with pikes, I didn't want to start with that type. I'm leaning towards Anthurus from Snookn. I see Belly Crawlers more than any others. I like their look. Do you have any pics of yours yet?
 
Bellycrawlers are nice pikes. I've got a nice female right now, and a small (hopefully) male that I'm growing up to try and pair with her.

I've kept several ven's, and they are very nice pikes. Not the most colorful, but cheap and great personality. Although they can get very territorial.

Another pike I found to be a brute, personality wise, was the lepidota pikes. I had a 4" lepidota male totally dominate a 9" venezuelan male to the point I had to separate them.
 
Congrats on the pike-up!!! Crenicichla sp. 'belly crawlers' are a great pike to start out with for sure! Was my first pike actually! Got me hooked and never looked back since then. You shouldn't have any problem finding venz either. They are all over! LoL

Not in Springfield Mass,this city has squat for Pikes!!!Argh!!!!:irked:

a pet store up this way called pets plus has three vens that ar between 8 to 10 inchs....its in tewksbury mass but they have them labeld as peru's...
 
i dont even know wat a pike is lol
