It depends on what strain of flowerhorn that you have, but I'm going to assume you have two ZZ's. One, they are still a bit too young to start breeding. When the male gets to 5 inches and the female gets to 3.5inches they should be ready to reproduce, but in order to get them to breed, you must condition them with high quality foods and remove the divider/put it back until they don't mind each others company. While you wait for them to grow, I suggest doing further research on breeding as I've never breed Flowerhorns but I've only studied how to do it.

yea der zz i feed them grand sumo frozen blood worms krill and freez dry shirmp and somtimes trow in hikri cichlid pellits is that ok

so i should remove the divider until they dont fight and 1s der good put the divder back? is that what u mean and thank u very much

As Water said, they aren't big enough yet. The male might not even be ready at 5 inches. He might need to be 7 inches to be ready. Try and keep them undivided in the 55, but watch carefully for signs of aggression and be ready to put up a divider. It is all a waiting game. They may never become a breeding pair. Just take good care of them and keep a close eye on them. Keep the 20g or another tank ready for fry in the future when they possibly breed.

i tryed before taking the divider out it wasnt good both r super aggrisive could that also be a prob but lately they both go by the divider and just look at each other even when its time 2 sleep they face each other could that mean they might be ok if i took out the divider

I highly doubt it, just wait it out until they grow much bigger.

I agree, you should keep them divided until they get bigger.

I think Im mad you have to FH in a 20 and moving them into a 55? I dont think 55 is big enough for one. Well whatever, as everyone already stated your fish are too young.

You'd be amazed at how small of tanks these guys can breed in and have bred in before.
