I want a gold severum but should I wait?

Mmmm Kay so in the summer or spring I will be setting up a 5 ft 100 gal or a 125 6 foot. It depends on what I can get a deal on. I'm raising some Cory fry in my 10 gal QT tank. But I'm thinking once I sell them off I could use the that tank to hold my new gold severum. Or put it with more corys in the 20 gal. I plan on getting a small one. My LSF gets little ones in 1" or smaller.

Should I go and just get one and grow it out then add it to my 125 gal or should I wait then add a young one to the tank? My green severum grew really fast from 1" to 3" in 5 months.

Anyways here is my stocking.

6 red eye tetra 2" (will be sold once the cichlids get large)

personally, if you purchase the gold severum now, i'd put it in at least the 20 gal or the 36. i just figure that the 10 gal is just plain too small since it won't be til spring or summer that you get the larger tank built. that's a fair bit of time still for the fish to grow.

Thanks. I'm thinking I could grow the new fish out in the 20 gal or move some fish around. I think I'm going to start looking for one.

I found some Heros notatus on aquabid for $6. I'm so tempted to order one. I have been looking at these guys online. They are amazing. Now I'm thinking I might get one. It's a 1" F1 should I do it? It's kind of close too only in OR I'm at tahoe so it's not too far to ship. I'm excited.

Oh yes this is just to grow it up so that it can hold it's own with my other fish in the 100+ gal. I could even put the new severum in the 36 gal and move my keyhole or acara.

So should I get the Heros notatus?

I would get it, and grow it out in the 20G with the cories.

Yeah they are from wetspot. Ok so should I go with the notatus or a common gold? I wanted the gold because I thought it would look good with my EBJD. But I have seen some notatus that are a yellow and just amazing.

Ahhh I don't know. notatus or gold??? I'm thinking the Notatus would be better.

I would go with the Notatus and Grey is a stand up guy. I've ordered from him many times. I have a notatus growing out right now and even at a young age he's displaying amazing colors. Also , if you're looking for great color look into the super red severum. Thats kind of like the gold you want but with red spots too.
