I've got two 75 gallon tanks. One is set up with a 5 inch male Green Terror. The other is almost ready to be set up, and I am pretty sure I'm going to get a carpintis. I'd also like to get a pike though. First, how big do Xingu 1's get? Internets tell me about a foot. Also, any chance of it living with the carpintis? I assume it would be too aggressive to go with the GT. If not, would a crenicichla menezesi work in either tank?

thanks

Xingu Is will get around 12'' males can get to around 14'' sometimes slightly bigger

Saxatilis pikes like menezesi would work great in a 75 gallon i'd say that you've got a much better chance of a pike working with a GT then a texas cichlid

I think I will try to get a menezesi to grow out then. Would a solo pike be interesting? It seems like they aren't really as interactive as large CA cichlids.

my old pike was awsome, all by himself. he used to let me pet him on his dorsal fin, like he was a cat. it was the best fish experiance i ever had.

pikes by themselves can sometimes be hiders in my experience. i had one that didnt come out of his cave while he was alone and is out and about an lots of fun to watch since i added some other cichlids and tinfoil barbs. i think you could get one that would live fine with a gt but id suggest some dithers as well. if its just a gt and pike it could be trouble. just throw a few silver dollars in and it should be ok unless either ur gt or pike is a mean sob.

Clown loaches and giant danios are in with the GT.
