Don't know where in LA. I haven't been there since 1985. But if you don't mind ordering some, www.gulfcoastdiscus.com always have good fish.

Sunrise Tropicals
Last one is in San Francisco, so maybe you could make a trip if you actually want to go in a store and see the fish? I don't know of any closer to you though, sorry.
I haven't bought any fish from any of these sites yet but they've been highly recommended to me, so I figured I'd put them out there.
The ones I am eventually planning on ordering/buying from are Kansas City Discus, mostly because I can go see their stock in person, but they also seem to have some of the best.
