Hi Everyone,
I have never bred tetras before. I have had luck with apistos, and corys, but never gave tetras a try.
I have H. ulreyi. I believe there is four males, and one female. I have chosen the nicest male.
I have been fishless cycling a 10 gallon and a 2.5 gallon tank, for about three weeks now. They both appear ready, except I need to drop the ph. in the ten.

I was planning on doing a 100 percent water change in the 10g, with water from the 30g that now houses the tetras.
Then, move the nicest male, and the female to the 10.
I do not have anything resembling a spawning mop, but I was planning on putting a couple long twisted up stems of cabomba in the bottom and hoping that would suffice. After they hopefully spawn, I would put the pair back in the 30, and if and when it is safe, move the fry to the 2.5 for grow out.
Would it be better to put the breeding pair into the 2.5 or is it too small?
This is as much as I have planned, and I am nervous about moving them into the fishless cycled tank. Any advice would be extremely helpful, as I have never bred these guys before, and I really want it to work out. I also hope to expand my collection of this nice fish, and possibly pass some along.
Thanks

One thing you could do to help the fishless tank is to..Take your sponge in your filter and squeeze it to get some of the BB (beneficial bacteria) and then pour it into the new tank...Good Luck!
